The Challenger 1 Competition:
For the first time last year there was a new B Competition for Total Beginners. This initiative was a great success. Twenty two schools altogether who had not previously taken part in Cumann na mBunscol handball expressed an interest. Some schools were visited and were given a free handball workshop. All schools were given starter packs with skills, drills and handballs courtesy of Comhairle Liathróide Láimhe na hÉireann.
The following fourteen schools altogether took part in the competition:

The Beginner’s Ball is called The Challenger One Ball.This year, the Beginners’ B Competition will now be called “The Challenger One Competition.”

March 4th: Moycullen Handball Club

Cumann na mBunscoil update
The A Competition will now called “The Challenger Two Competition.” This is be played with the Challenger Two Ball.
This year the U11 and the U13 have been played at the two different venues:

Winners of the Challenger Two Competition will go on to play in the Connaught finals usually played in Ballinrobe in February or March.
Winners of the Connaught finals go on to play on Handball Exhibition Day in Croke Park in April or May.
